Support for export promotion and new markets

Objective:

To promote the competitiveness and exportability of Latvian companies in international markets, including the export growth and international competitiveness of bioeconomy and other RIS3 companies, through publicity and marketing activities in foreign markets, visits of foreign experts to Latvia, market research on the export potential of companies

Eligible actions:

  • Participation in international exhibitions abroad and in Latvia (with a stand or joint stand)

  • Participation in conferences abroad with a stand or presentation

  • Participation in contact fairs abroad in person or online

  • Participation in international digital industry platforms - membership fee or annual subscription to a maximum of 3 platforms per year (does not support publicity on social networks and trading platforms)

  • Trademark development and registration (support ≤ EUR 5 000 per year)

  • Development and management of advertising campaigns to launch the product on the export market (support ≤ EUR 5 000 per year)

  • Development of visual marketing material for a product or a service (support ≤ EUR 5 000 per year)

  • Participation in international industry associations or organisations abroad

  • Development and purchase of target market research (support ≤ EUR 8 000 per year)

  • Telemarketing services for finding foreign partners (support ≤8 000 EUR per year)

  • Recruitment of a foreign expert in the relevant sector for the development and implementation of an export market strategy and of a foreign sales agent for market reorientation (support ≤ EUR 8 000 per year)

  • Conformity assessment (certification) of products

  • Support for the organisation of international conferences in Latvia in the smart strategy fields (RIS3) with at least 50 participants and at least 50% of participants from abroad (support ≤ EUR 12 000 per conference)

Amount and intensity of support:

Available public funding for support EUR 13 million.

Annual maximum eligible costs (EUR): 66 666

Intensity of support: 60%

Annual amount of aid: 40 000 EUR*

Ineligible industries:

  • Trade (except repair and maintenance of motor vehicles)

  • Financial and insurance activities

  • Real estate activities

  • Gambling and betting

Support procedure:

Submission of an application for export support activities to LIAA (includes planned activities for the whole year)

Support

Quality criteria for export aid:

  • Net turnover of the applicant in the supported sector (> EUR 50 000)

  • Sectoral breakdown by technology/knowledge intensity (high-tech sectors receive the highest score)

  • Number of employees (companies with > 100 employees receive the highest score)

  • Taxes paid to the state budget (at least EUR 10 000 per year)

  • Research and development component
